Sofia Guedes

Sofia Guedes graduated in Music Teaching - transverse flute - by the University of Aveiro.

At the University she studied Canto as a secondary instrument, having subsequently started the Singing Course at the Superior School of Music of the Arts of Oporto, which she ended in the class of Professor José Oliveira Lopes.

She has won several awards as flutist and singer in contests: Portuguese Musical Youth, II National Carpe Diem Music Festival and Young Musicians Prize.

As a flutist she joined several young orchestras, such as the Portuguese Music Schools Orchestra, the Luso-German Youth Orchestra, the International Music Meeting Orchestra and reinforcements in the North and Oporto Orchestras.

As a singer, she recorded two Portuguese music albums. She was a Fellow of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation during the Cross Flute Course.

She currently teaches at the Espinho Music Academy.

 

João Carlos Soares

João Carlos Soares

João Carlos has a diploma in Singing by the Superior School of Music of Porto, Lied and Oratory, in the class of the professor José Oliveira Lopes. He attended several courses in Vocal Technique and Interpretation.

He is part of the Clepsydra Ensemble, a group dedicated to the interpretation of a cappella repertoire.

He participated in several Music Festivals in Portugal and in Brazil, Spain, Venezuela and France. He has recorded for RTP, RTP Açores, RDP Madeira and Radio Cultura de S. Paulo.

He holds several prizes in song contests, namely in the "Helena Sá e Costa" Contest; Portuguese Musical Youth; C.P.O. Award And Best Portuguese Author's Work Interpretation in the context of the Luísa Todi International Singing Competition II.

He holds a Master's degree in Music Sciences from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra.
